The Sun 3511 is a highly scalable and compact storage solution. The compact, rack mountable housing contains up to twelve 7,200 RPM SATA disks in 250GB and 400GB options. When fully loaded with 400GB disks, the Sun StorageTek 3511 SATA Storage Array boasts storage capabilities of 4.8TB. To ensure full accessibility, the Sun 3511 features the option of one or two 1GB RAID controllers. Sun 3511s with JBOD controllers are able to network with Sun 3510s for a low-cost solution to SAN expansion. The StorEdge 3511 is a cost-effective and extremely reliable storage solution that will excel in even the most demanding storage environments.

The Sun 3511 and Sun StorEdge 3510 were among the several Sun systems used to help building the state-of-the-art animation featured in 2006's “Barnyard,” produced by Nickelodeon and distributed by Paramount.
