The IBM x3950 M2 server, known officially as the IBM System x3950 M2, is a workhorse datacenter solution designed for organizations with enterprise-class needs. Powered by up to four Intel Xeon processors, the IBM x3950 supports up to 256 gigabytes of main memory, 587 gigabytes of internal disk storage per chassis, and 16 megabytes of cache. The IBM x3950 M2 supports the Microsoft Windows, VMware, Red Hat Linux, and SUSE Enterprise Linux operating systems.With its many redundant and hot-swappable features, the 4U IBM x3950 is designed to go the distance and avoid dreaded downtime that plagues other systems. The IBM x3950 M2's IBM Director technology allows for streamlined system management and decreased administrative costs.
